Rainring #22 Relation

Standard

The Relation card talks about our interaction with people. It brings warmth and a welcoming feeling. It think it is about more platonic connections whereby there are shared activities or interests.

If you drew Relation as a one card pull for the day you can expect some involvement with various people from different areas of society.

You could attend a meeting at a school, go to a play or participate in a community event. There are many other examples of the essence of the Relation card.

There is a good chance of a positive team in the workplace. You could even get a visit from a relative.

If you cards the cards if you and someone you met will get involved romantically this card suggests it will stay on a friendship level.

If you are wondering about your divorce the Relation card indicates an amicable settlement.

Even though you do not know the people at the meeting you are still in relation to them – you have the common goal of the intended meeting.

The 9-card Rainring Octagon spread reading

Standard

If you pop over to the Ask my Cards blog you will find a detailed reading using the 9/21 cards we have studied thus far.

I have demonstrated how to read these 9 selected cards in the Octagon spread.  It is a very good layout that covers 8 aspects of the specific question asked with the 9th card as a summary.

Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten Thought card

Standard

It is better to understand one or two meanings and build on that by practicing layouts. The images speak volumes. The Thought card will mean something entirely unique to you.

In the Art Deco deck you might get the impression the person has writers block. He could also be studying for his exam. Maybe he is a bookkeeper? The possibilities are endless.

In the Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten the feeling of the card is different. He just got news and is pondering on it. Or news has come with a job proposition and so on. No matter which card of the deck you are studying, the meaning will be personal to you.

If you are married, living together or in a committed relationship:

  • Financial questions: indication of many material worries over debts and other money related issues.
  • Romantic questions: There is evidence of suspicion and jealousy that preoccupies the person’s mind.
  • Work related question: There is a dilemma surrounded by indecision. A choice needs to be made.
  • Surprise element: Someone at a distance is planning to visit you, unexpectedly.

If you are single, with no committed relationship:

  • Romantic questions: Don’t count on anything long-term. Not much action in this area.
  • Work questions: You are being considered for a new position or job. There is much competition.
  • Financial questions: Indicates that there may not be adequate funds to enjoy life satisfactorily.
  • Surprise element: You may have to wait a very long time to make a connection.

Collectively, we would all agree that the THOUGHT card means ‘thinking about’ something or someone.

Rainring #21 Impression

Standard

I want to share a personal story which reflects the Impression card on some levels.

Not too long ago, I was picking through some spanish onions at the grocery store when I noticed a distinguished man smiling at me. I didn’t think anything of it and figured he smiled at all the women. Who knows why people smile and honestly, you don’t see much of that any more. So, a few seconds passed and I had the feeling he was staring at me. When I looked up our eyes were in a deadlock gaze. OMG, I knew him. I had not seen him for three decades or so.

He approached me. My heart began racing. I felt such intensity.  I don’t freeze on the spot too often but this time my feet were nailed to the floor. I was still holding the spanish onion (chuckling to myself as I write) when he spoke.

He says, “So, how long are you going to hold that spanish onion?” I felt a lump in my throat and at the same time I began to laugh. I said, “Until you make your famous spaghetti sauce.” In my mind a voice was screaming, “What are you doing you crazy woman!”

Long story short we chatted for a bit, had a few laughs and wished each other well until our paths crossed again (per chance). I was happy that I knew in my heart I did not want to go down that road again. Not so sure he knew, lol.

Asking Tarot Marseille a question about love. Featuring the 4-card Elements layout.

Standard

I am featuring the Le Tarot de Marseille by Fournier, 1992 in the 4-card Elements layout that I created in 2007. The objective is to see what advice the cards have for Billy on his question which is stated below.

I shuffled the deck while thinking of Billy’s question about finding love with the right person. To date his relationships have been short-lived and unsuccessful.

In the deck I am using the green background of the pips is the wands suit and the blue background is the swords suit. How do I know this? Well, the Court cards helped me to figure it out. The earlier printing of some of my Marseille decks the backgrounds were not differentiated in this way. Actually, I find it very helpful with the different coloured backgrounds.

About cards 1 and 2:

Current thoughts: Justice

Billy is caught in doing the right thing with the right person. He is thinking about an honest relationship.

Your feelings: 2 of Pentacles/Coins

He wants to have a physical relationship whereby he is sharing his feelings with his partner.

About cards 3 and 4:

Plan of action: 3 of Swords

This card is advising Billy to break free of the intellectual pain he has endured in the past. He needs to let go of the notion that there is a right person because people cannot live up to someone’s ideal of right is in their perception. If he taps into his individuality he will find his own skin. This is important.

What can happen: 5 of Pentacles/Coins

If Billy takes the advice of the cards thus far he will experience a big change in his attitude about relationships. Having a more earthy attitude is helpful. If you remember the scene in the Waite Tarot about the downtrodden people outside of a church it illustrates a dramatic experience of this card. Billy will probably continue to look for love in the wrong places. The 3 of Swords experience has not been understood fully. Billy should not lose faith in ever finding love with the right person.

So, we need to leave him on a high with this reading.

I did take the next card off the top of the discarded pile to use as a Clarification card for additional advice after seeing the 5 of Pentacles as the probable outcome.

Knight of Wands

Billy needs to take action. He needs to regain his passion and desire of having a relationship but in a more controlled manner. He cannot just jump into a relationship with the first woman that shows any kind of interest. He must overcome the 3 of Swords experience in a healthy and beneficial way. He should not continue to beat himself up which chances are he will.  (5 of Pentacles) You cannot heal overnight. These types of deep-rooted belief systems take time to fully understand. He needs to re-ignite his inner fires on a positive level.
